The top legal official in Texas Paxton is filing a lawsuit against the producers of Tylenol, claiming the firms hid safety concerns that the drug presented to pediatric cognitive development.

This legal action comes thirty days after President Donald Trump publicized an unsubstantiated connection between consuming Tylenol - also known as paracetamol - while pregnant and autism in offspring.

The attorney general is taking legal action against the pharmaceutical giant, which formerly manufactured the drug, the only pain reliever approved for women during pregnancy, and the current manufacturer, which presently makes it.

In a official comment, he stated they "betrayed America by gaining financially from pain and promoting medication regardless of the potential hazards."

The manufacturer asserts there is no credible evidence tying Tylenol to autism.
